Canon wanted to bring their beloved print and animated ad character Boss Man to life online for the new line of Canon printers. Working with Canon’s digital agency 360i, Big Nest Creative came to New York in September 2015 to shoot the comedy web spots and Print Like a Boss!
In the vein of The Office, we cast two talented but unknown actors from the NY comedy scene who were able to elevate an already strong creative brief into comedy gold.
A well-planned combination of scripted spots and improvised comedic acting generated dozens of different concepts highlighting the superiority of Canon printers.
We worked with our design team to translate the two-dimensional Boss Man into a 3D wearable version of the character’s head.
The online response to the ads has been strong; the videos have generated over 300,000 views and an overwhelmingly positive consumer reaction. Why Trust the Sauce?!
